Strawberry picking!

On Friday we went strawberry picking with our friends Gus and Orson. The kids loved it, and now we have enough strawberries for days! Then we headed to Outback for a belated Father's Day lunch with my grandparents, Tracy, Chris and Matthew. Owen always loves to see his godfather!

Then, because it was 85 degrees out, we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool... which is what we did for a good chunk of Saturday and Sunday, too, since it was 90 degrees out! Both the kids are such little fishes; Owen is really into jumping lately. It's so cute how proud he looks when he does a big jump into our arms.

We also had a friend's first birthday party on Sunday; so cute! The kids had a blast.

The birthday girl; she is so cute!

Ice Cream!

On Tuesday, we went to Babcock Hall with our playgroup to see how ice cream was made. Kate was fascinated, while Owen's favorite part of the tour was eating the ice cream ;) Afterward, we met Dan for lunch at Pasqual's; it was a gorgeous day to sit outside. Then the kids and I went to the library (we had to check in for the summer reading program; Kate's already completed 75% of her booklet, and the summer just started. Ha!)

Wednesday we went to the $3 showing of Horton Hears a Who at the theaters. The kids liked it but then the rest of the day was kind of a bust; they were both super tired and cranky. Oh well, not every day can be perfect, right?

Monday, Monday....

Mondays are so much more fun in the summertime! Today the kids slept in late; Kate until 8:30, and Owen until 9:15! So I had plenty of time to work, which was nice. Then after breakfast we headed to the park with friends; we are part of a STEM (science, tech, engineering, math) group in the summer. It's very flexible/unstructured, but we do some cool experiments! Today we were making rocket launchers out of mini M&M cases. Afterwards, the kids had lunch and then played on the play equipment for hours. Then, since it was 84 degrees and sunny, we headed to the pool. What a perfect day with my two sweet kiddos :)

Kate's went pretty high!

Weekend fun

It was HOT this weekend so what else could we do but go out to my parents' house and spend lots of time boating and swimming? Kate and Owen were thrilled with their surprise; a "motorcycle" as Owen calls it, ha!

Geology Museum!

On Friday, we met up with our friends Sigita, Gus and Orson to go to the geology museum. The kids loved it and were especially thrilled with their souvenirs (Kate got a 55-million-year-old shark tooth, and Owen got an agate). The we ate lunch outside with our friends, and later that afternoon, we went to the pool (yay for season passes!)

crafts and Ella's Deli

Today we went to my froend's business, a craft studio, to work on Father's Day gifts. Owen's was a little... More challenging than Kate's ;) but that's ok, he had fun. Then we went to Ella's Deli for lunch and a carousel ride. Then once Dan got home we headed to the pool for evening swim. I love summer!!

Owen always prefers sand over swimming ;)

Summer!!

Monday was our first official day of summer vacation and we loved it!! The morning was just spent playing and reading; Kate is obsessed with the Indian in the Cupboard series so we've been working out way through that. Then we headed to the pool until it closed.

Afterward we grabbed dinner at a nearby Mexican place where we could sit outside, and then headed to the ice cream social and barbershop quartet at the library. Very fun day!

We Love Summer!

Today Kate had a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese, which she loved, naturally. Then it was off to the Middleton pool since it was 90 degrees; we loved swimming for a couple of hours. Felt so good! Now it's off to our friends' house for dinner; such a fun summer day.

Last Day of School

I can't believe the school year is over! Kindergarten was such an amazing experience for Kate. We loved her teacher, Mrs. Williams, and hope that Owen gets her as a teacher as well!

Here are a few shots from the last couple weeks at school:
