So I haven't been the best with updating my blog, I know! Being full-term in pregnancy will do that to you. :) Let's see, what have we been up to?
Last Monday (the 12th) Kate and I had a wonderful day at the Children's Museum. We hadn't been there in awhile and she loves that place, so we took advantage of that. Tuesday we had our last day of music class, which was bittersweet. Of course she'll start again in the fall, but the parents are only involved for about half of the class, or maybe a bit less, so this was the last class we could do together. I'm so glad we were able to do it for so long though; we started when she was 10 months, so we've had quite the run!
Wednesday we saw Meghan, Adelaide and Alden at their place, and Kate of course loved that. It is so cute seeing the two girls together, and it's really touching seeing how patient and nice Kate is with Alden. I can't wait to see her with her little sibling!
On Thursday Kate and I took a fantastic class at Olbrich Gardens. I don't know why we haven't done any of their classes before; this was so much fun! The theme of this one was "Curious George and the Pizza," and we started out by reading a story about (you guessed it) Curious George and the Pizza. Then you could go off to different stations; Kate and I started out at a craft station where she made her own "pizza", and then we spent the next hour watering the kitchen gardens. She was having so much fun looking at what each plant/vegetable/fruit was, and I was happy because all the produce is donated to Second Harvest Food Bank. It was so much fun to walk around with my sweet little girl enjoying the sunshine and our last couple of days just the two of us. :) We'll definitely be doing some more of those classes in the fall.
And then she finished up her swimming class last Thursday; she did quite well! She needs to take the level again, which I think is normal for this age, but I was impressed at how many of the components she passed! And of course she had fun on the last day, since they get to play on the slides, with water toys, etc.; something they normally don't get to do during class.

And, just because I'm excited about it, my new dining set! Dan reupholstered the chairs with fabric I bought from Joann's, so we spent a whopping $120 ($90 for the dining set from Craigslist, plus $30 for the fabric) for a dining set that looks 100 times better than our old one. Just for reference, here was the old one (from my college apartment):
