Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous; mid-70s and sunny. The sky was so blue and the leaves are starting to change, so Kate and I spent a lot of time outside. We walked around the track for awhile so that I could get some exercise, and then we played in the park (Kate's first time going to a park!) She sat in the baby swings (you know, the ones that are enclosed in front and back), and she looked so proud that she was doing something new. We were out there for quite awhile, and she just swung back and forth and looked so content.
Here she is before our walk. I'm so glad that it was so nice out so she can still get some wear out of her summery outfits.
Back at home, trying to sit up so she can play with her Noah's Ark

More pictures of Kate
On Monday, Kate & I went to Book Baby again; she always has so much fun! We sang a bunch of songs, read some books, and "danced" along to some music while Kate (and the other babies) shook a rattle. It was so cute; throughout the song, there will be spots where the music stops and the singer says, "Freeze!" so we're supposed to stop shaking the rattle. Kate and a few other babies actually got it; they would stop shaking the rattle when the music stopped. It was so cute; they're so smart, even at such a young age!
Here she is before Book Baby; I made her outfit more "fall-appropriate" by putting a long-sleeved onesie under it, because I think the pattern is so cute and I'm not ready for her to stop wearing it yet!
Look at that tongue!
On Tuesday, we went to Storytime for the Very Young, which Kate also loved. She gets so excited by everything; I'm so glad that I can stay home with her and do all of these fun things! We then met my friend Meghan for coffee and wandered over to Babies R Us; she was due on Saturday and so is naturally counting down the days until her little girl gets here.
Here she is before storytime, in an ADORABLE new outfit from (who else?) Nana
I love the way her Uggs look with this outfit!
Tuesday night, I had my Zumba class (which is so fun, by the way), so Kate was home with Dan. He took her on a walk and then got her ready for bed. I think this sleeper (which I'm 99% sure is also from my mom, by the way) looks so cozy and appropriate for fall!

The Farmers' Market
On Saturday, we all went to the Farmers' Market on the square and got some tomatoes, sweet corn, flowers, cheese, etc. Here's a couple of shots of Kate before we went; we of course put a jacket and blanket on her (since it was in the upper 60s) but I wanted to get the cute details of the shirt in the photo, which is why she looks so "summery" here. After the market, we went to The Great Dane to eat, and that is always so good!
Today, we went to the Jet Room with Tracy and Rori (well, Kate and I did; Dan stayed here to clean, and as a result our place looks great!) I love this outfit on her; it's a sweater dress with a poodle on it, and her new Guess jeans from Nana.
Ok, mom, seriously, stop with the pictures.

More photos
On Tuesday, I started taking a Zumba class, which is so much fun, but a major workout! So Dan was home with Kate that evening, and he took her on a walk around the neighborhood. Here she is in an adorable little hat; she looks so funny!
On Friday, we went into the office for a meeting and everyone was cooing over her -- as always!
Her shirt says "I'm a Madison Birth Center Baby" and I really hope our next child(or children!) is, too; we had such a great experience there!
Ignore my foot; I was trying to get a full body shot of her.

Updates
Sorry I've been a bit behind in updating recently; Kate and I have been busy going to the library, out to lunch with Meghan (who is due today, actually!) and generally just enjoying our fall.
On Monday, we went to "Book Baby" at the Pinney Library, which is for kids birth to 15 months. It is kind of like storytime, but with a lot more singing and activities. Kate loved it, although towards the end she got kind of fussy since she hadn't had her morning nap. But overall, it was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to take her this Monday!
Here she is playing on her mat Monday afternoon; this was the outfit she wore to Book Baby. It's absolutely adorable and from my mom, of course.
Silly girl! I love the little roses on the outfit
So serious!
On Tuesday, it was very warm (in the 80s!), so I had her wear this outfit my friend Angie gave her when I was home in June, and then I put these adorable sandals that my friend Nikki gave her for my baby shower. She looked so cute!
What a good sitter!
Hmmm, these shoes are an endless source of entertainment!

A Fun Saturday
This morning, I had a hair appointment on the near west side, so Dan and & Kate dropped me off for that and then they went to "Bagels & Babies," which is a breakfast-time story time for babies aged 0-2 years, at a nearby library. Dan said Kate had SO much fun; she got so excited to see all the other babies, and she loved singing all the songs. (Well, she didn't sing, but you know what I mean.) He said she loved the books and playing with the toys at the end, so I'm glad they had a good time!
After they picked me up, we went to lunch at The Laurel, which has some delicious food. It's just the typical hot dogs, burgers, etc. but it is so good! I love eating there, but we never usually get to that side of town, since we have a child who hates the car (although she had been doing better!)
After we got home, Kate and I read a bunch of her books and then played with her Little Leapfrog Music Table (she loves that thing!); it's so cute to see her looking so proud of herself as she "plays" the music. Then Kate and I took a nap together in "her" room; so relaxing!
Here are some photos dressed in an adorable outfit my mom gave her, all ready for Babies & Bagels!
This outfit has some elephants who are hanging out in Paris; there's the Eiffel Tower, some French sidewalk cafes, etc. It is so cute!
Oh, hey, Maxine (she's looking at Maxine like she wants to play--which she always does!)

Storytime for the very young
On Tuesday, Kate and I went to this "Storytime for the Very Young" program at our local library. It's every Tuesday from 11:30-12:15, so we went there and then headed into my office for a bit (which is only five or so minutes away). She LOVED it. It's for babies birth to 2 years, and there was lots of singing, clapping, toy playing and reading. The only time she got mad was when I wouldn't let her chew on the book; she didn't seem to understand that it was the library's book and therefore not hers to chew on ;) She laughed and smiled through the whole thing, and when the woman conducting the session brought around a baby bear puppet asleep in a sleeping bag and asked how we could wake the bear up, Kate obliged by growling at the bear very loudly. (Not in a mad way; she was excited to see and touch the baby bear, but she just did her growling thing like when she's happy). Everyone laughed at that.
And she loved seeing all the other kids; she just had a look on her face like, "Wow, I though Rori was close to my size, but these kids are REALLY like me!"
Ready for her first story time!
So happy!

Look at that fuzz!
On Monday, after Kate woke up from her nap (she fell asleep after nursing so her hair was kind of mashed against the pillows on our couch), I had to laugh at the way her fuzz looked. I don't know if you can see it well in these photos (because it's so light!) but it was so cute, all sticking up and wild.
I'm just trying to hold her head steady so I can get a pic; I know it looks a bit weird, like I'm grabbing her neck or something! :)
