On Monday, it was pretty nice out, so I decided to take Kate swimming in the morning, before the sun got too strong. She loves being in the water; so cute! Being the protective mom I am, I lathered her up with sunscreen and put a hat on her to shield her from the sun. The hat, however, was VERY big, despite being in the 3-6 month size, which Kate obviously is!
Mom, I can barely see with this hat!
Ummm, that's not any better!
Hmmm, I suppose this is better :)
Yay! I can see!
Let's get this show on the road; I wanna go swimming!
This shot was from the day last week that she had her four-month appointment, when she got her shots :(
On Sunday, Nancy left bright and early to head back to Utah :( so of course we wanted to get a shot of her with Kate before she left!
After she left, Dan and I spent the day reading our respective books (Dan Brown for him, Mary Higgins Clark for me). Kate is apparently intrigued by The Lost Symbol.
It's a real page-turner!

Fun with Nana
Ok, I know I'm kind of all over the place regarding out photos, but it's taking me awhile to get caught up, after being gone in Utah in early June and then having my mom come right after that. So, these pictures are from that visit of my mom's.
We went and saw Rori perform as the Little Red Hen in her class; I love her costume! She's so cute!
We say she looks like something from a garden, like we plucked a little cabbage patch baby out to keep :)
At the 1855 Saloon; almost my whole family on my mom's side. My grandparents, my aunt Chris and her kids, the Hines & their kids, and Dan & me.
She's a tired girl
How cute is this?
She loves her Nana!
This story is terribly tragic!
Right before Nana went to the airport; we don't want her to go!
On Saturday, the 26th, my mom was no longer here, although Nancy still was (yay!) so we went to the Octagon House in Watertown. It's this really cool mansion that was built in the 1850s, and they give guided tours. Nancy & I loved all the furnishings and rooms; I wish we had taken photos of the interior, but I guess this one of Kate and me outside will have to do. :)

Four months old!
So, since Kate is four months & some days, I decided to take her picture by the bear we use to show her growth. Look how big she is getting!

Dan's 1st Father's Day
Dan had a great first Father's Day. We had the Hines over (minus Kirsti, since she was working) as well as my grandparents, and Nancy was still here, so that was fun. We ate a "fancy oatmeal" dish that had walnuts, cranberries and apples, as well as fresh fruit, coffee, non-alcoholic mimosas, cream cheese brownies and chocolate chip cookies. Tracy & Dan also brought over some delicious blueberry muffins.
Baking cookies the night before
Whew; baking is hard work. I'm tuckered out!
She loved the bracelets!

Some more summer fun...
Kate had her doctor's appointment yesterday; she is up to 13 lbs, 13 oz. and 25 inches! She is really growing a lot!
Here are some more pictures from our trip to Utah:
Kate & Uncle Austin
Kate and Austin at the Spaghetti Factory before Kate & I caught our flight home
At O'Hare International Airport...
"Let's go, Mom!"
Then, back in Madison...
At La Quinta, where Alan, Janet & Karen were staying; they invited us over to use the pool, which was a lot of fun!

More Utah fun
My vacation to Utah was spent mainly eating yummy food at all my favorite restaurants and hanging out with family, so it was the perfect vacation!
Resting on Nana at the Bistro 258
She looks so cute with hats; too bad she doesn't really like them!

Excited to go to my dad's company picnic at Surf'N'Swim
