I just love my little girl so much. Five months old today; wow! She apparently thinks that Daddy moving her little purple bunny around is hilarious!

She rolled over!
Kate rolled over unassisted, from back to tummy, for the first time today. And, go figure, she did it when I wasn't around! I'm with the child 95% of the time, but this morning I had to go into the office for a meeting, so I had Tracy watch her, and Tracy got to witness the first roll. Luckily, Kate was more than happy to show off her new skill several times this afternoon, so I got to see it. She looks so proud of herself!
Yesterday, Dan was playing with Kate and lifting her into the air, and she kept sticking her tongue out (yes, she has recently discovered she has a tongue, and she loves to show it off). Dan was jokingly calling her "Air Wallace," along the lines of "Air Jordan," but, go figure, when I tried to take a picture of her, she was reluctant to do it. I did get one semi-decent shot, but the rest of the pictures just show her stubbornness. She doesn't like photos, apparently, just like her dad!
Air Wallace!
No, Mama, I will not show you my stuck-out tongue now that you want to take a photo, despite doing it multiple times today.

Kate laughing
Here's a cute video of Kate laughing. Ignore me in the background; I was just saying "Baby" in a funny, high-pitched voice because that always makes her laugh.

More tummy time!
Kate's been doing really well on her tummy lately. She doesn't get mad as often, and today, she rolled from her tummy to her back for the first time unassisted! We're still working on the whole back to tummy thing, though, but she's almost got it!
She insists on putting anything she can into her mouth. Here she is on her activity mat, trying to devour Terrence the Toucan.
On Sunday, we went to the Fete de Marquette, which was this fun little French-themed festival in town. Before we went, Kate spent some more time on her tummy; she's really getting good at this whole thing!
We went swimming before the fete; Kate was so tired that she fell asleep in the pool as I was holding her.
Hmmm... I'm rather hot, and I'm displeased about that fact
Tuckered out

That cannot be comfortable...
On Friday, Kate was sleeping in this very awkward-looking position. It made me laugh so I had to get a picture. She slept like that for a good 20 minutes!

Art Fair on the Square
Today, Dan, Kate & I went to Art Fair on the Square. It was such a beautiful, sunny day out (although a bit on the hot side), and we saw some amazing art. We also watched some Irish dancers perform (I was disappointed, though, because I had hoped to get there in time to see the Spanish Flamenco dancers as well, but we were too late), but it was still a lot of fun. I'd love to have the money to buy much of the art we saw there!
Then we came home, and while Dan grilled our burgers, Kate & I went swimming. We only swam for about 20 minutes, because the pool was very crowded and she kept getting splashed, but she didn't seem to mind! She loves the water and has so much fun kicking and splashing around in it.
Dan playing with Kate this morning. He says she looks like a little leapfrog, so he does this thing where he'll bounce her up and down while saying "boing, boing, boing..." She laughs and loves it
All tired and hot after seeing the Irish dancers at Art Fair on the Square. She looks very disgruntled!
Mommy and Kate
Come on, honey, smile for Mama
Tickling her elicited a *tiny* smile...
And not two minutes after we took those shots, she was out like a light
The Capitol grounds looked so beautiful today; I wanted to get some pics
Her face lighting up when I say that we're going swimming!
Isn't this sailor outfit adorable?
What a smiler!
Back from swimming & ready for bed in the new wearable blanket Nana gave her
