On Monday afternoon, I had to head down to the PARCEL Forum (the annual conference that is put on in part by one of the magazines I am editor of) and since Kate doesn't appear to like to be away from me for an extended period of time, I had Dan take off work, and the three of us headed down there.
Hanging out on the hotel bed
Silly girl, are you posing?
Here she is on Tuesday in her makeshift "cage" that Dan put together so he could check his email without worrying that she'd fall off the bed.
Her pants are clearly mint green, but people kept thinking she was a boy because they thought they were blue. Uh, ok. As Dan says, "Yeah, I always love my little boy to wear lace and flowers on his jacket!"
Dan and Kate went on a nice long walk in some nature preserve while I was doing work-related stuff, and then they came back to the hotel around 5 so I could feed her before heading out to my networking reception. Here's a couple of shots of Kate and Mama:

Seven and a half months!
On Monday, Kate and I went to Book Baby in the morning, and once again she LOVED the singing and dancing around, and the only time she got mad was (once again) when I wouldn't let her chew on the library's book. Here she is beforehand, in her Baby's First Halloween shirt that my mom gave me for our baby shower in December, next to the bear.

More random photos
Here are some more photos of Kate from last week.
In an adorable "Baby Boutique" outfit made more fall-like with the pink onesie. I'm not ready to give up her summer clothes yet!
Trying to escape from the swing
Mama, that flash is so bright!
This shirt was given to us by Tracy last fall; it says "Ghouls just want to have fun." I thought it was adorable but I was convinced we wouldn't be able to use it (at least not with THIS baby) because I was so sure she was a boy, but Tracy was right!
I love, love, LOVE this photo of her; too adorable! What a sweet face. :)
Trying to get her binky into her mouth. She rarely even uses a binky, but she found this one and apparently decided that it would be fun to try and shove it into her mouth.
A close-up of the shirt
Hmm, what is this?
Here she is on Sunday morning; I think my grandma gave me this sleeper before Kate was even born. Kate's just showing off her tongue like always and trying to crawl; she is *thisclose*, but she can't quite get it yet. She's quite adept, though, at rolling all over and scooting backwards!

Anchors Away
On Saturday night, we went out to dinner as kind of an early birthday celebration for Dan. I had Kate wear her sailor outfit; she looked so cute!
Seriously, Mom, what's up with all the photos?
There's that smile!
It's (soon-to-be) Dan's first birthday as a dad!
And, here are some random shots of her from Wednesday night after her bath; she looked so cozy in this cute sleeper from (who else?) Nana.
Mama, I'm tired.
Here you can see the detail of the sleeper better (and the mountain of laundry on my couch)
Fuzzy!

Having Fun in the Fall
On Saturday, Dan, Kate, Tracy, Kirsti, Rori and I went to the Eplegaarden in Fitchburg to pick some apples. It's become kind of an annual tradition with us, and it was fun that now we have Kate with us! It was a beautiful fall day, a little cold, but not too bad.
In her apple-picking outfit; I love the colors of the shirt!
With the matching sweater jacket
In the full ensemble with her Uggs
Daddy and Kate in the SleepyWrap
I can't believe how tall Rori is!
All tired out; apple picking is hard work!

A Beautiful Fall Day
Yesterday was absolutely gorgeous; mid-70s and sunny. The sky was so blue and the leaves are starting to change, so Kate and I spent a lot of time outside. We walked around the track for awhile so that I could get some exercise, and then we played in the park (Kate's first time going to a park!) She sat in the baby swings (you know, the ones that are enclosed in front and back), and she looked so proud that she was doing something new. We were out there for quite awhile, and she just swung back and forth and looked so content.
Here she is before our walk. I'm so glad that it was so nice out so she can still get some wear out of her summery outfits.
Back at home, trying to sit up so she can play with her Noah's Ark
