We were so lucky to have Nancy come for a last-minute impromptu visit at the end of August. She arrived on Friday, August 23 and didn't leave until Tuesday, September 3. It was so great to see her! We got lots of stuff fit in to her visit; the pool, the beach, the children's museum, etc. I'm just a tad disappointed the baby didn't make his/her appearance while she was here, though! And Nancy was nice enough to watch Kate on Saturday, August 24 so we could go to the Wonder Ball at the Children's Museum with some friends. It's a fundraiser for the museum, and it's basically a "grown-up prom." We went out to eat at Nostrano's beforehand, which had some.... interesting.... food (let's just say the quail, which I ordered, was the most "normal" thing on the menu) but it was still fun to get dressed up and go out. Then we headed to the ball where we hung out until after midnight; quite late for us now that we're old folks ;)

At my dr. appointment on Monday the 26th. Kate is always such a good helper for the doctor; she likes to put the goo on my stomach and hold the doppler heartbeat wand.
