Sometimes being responsible is no fun

So, we got our tax refund last night (a whole week ahead of time!) and as much as I would love to buy a new big-screen TV, or go on a vacation for our anniversary, or a multitude of other things..... we're putting it towards debt. I know it's the responsible thing to do, but it's no fun. I just have to tell myself that it's helping us towards our goal of me becoming a stay at home mom in 2-3 years, and it's wise to use this time of dual incomes to become debt free. That's what I logically think, anyway, but when you get a big refund like this, it's hard not to think of all the other exciting stuff we could be doing with it!

I'm totally proud of you! It will be so worth it I promise. I remember the first couple of times Jason and I did this I was kind of bummed too, but eventually it gets all paid off and then it's a big sigh of relief. That's so great for you to be thinking of the future and how to make your dream of being a stay-at-home mom a reality.

Thanks, Nancy. You're right, it will be worth it in the end, but right now, I'm thinking, "Hey, let's jet off to California or somewhere warm and use this $$ for something fun." ;) But I'm holding back, I promise!
