Disney World: Day One

Ok, I know I've been terrible about blogging lately. I still need to update about Kate's birthday, and I think I may even have a few photos of our Christmas vacation that I need to put up! But, since I am here in Florida and Kate is happily snuggled up next to me while she watches cartoons on the Disney channel (a treat for her, since we don't have cable), I figured I'd update about our fabulous Disney trip.

We flew out Friday, March 1 from Milwaukee. Normally we fly out of Madison but we were able to get a direct flight from Milwaukee for much, much cheaper than out of Madison so I figured an hour drive to the airport was worth it. We got to our hotel around 10 that night (even though our flight got in around 8:00) and Kate was so excited she didn't get to sleep until late. So Saturday we got a leisurely start and headed to EPCOT, one of our favorite parks.

Dan and Nancy went on Mission Space and The Sum of all Thrills (both of which I couldn't go on, being pregnant, although the last time I went on Mission Space, I vowed never again--pregnant or not--so I didn't feel like I was missing too much). Dan said he really liked The Sum of All Thrills, since he was able to design his own roller coaster ride before going on it. That's definitely one I want to check out next time we come! My mom, Kate & I checked out the Nemo ride, which she liked, and then spent some time on the observation deck watching the scuba divers, fish, and manatees. Very cool!

We also met Aurora that day, which Kate was so excited about. We saw Aladdin too, although we didn't wait in line to meet him, since Kate looked tired. She did end up falling asleep right at dinner time, so she missed our meal at the German Biergarten. That was too bad, since I know she would have loved the dancing and the music, but the rest of us certainly enjoyed it.

Yes, I am wearing a sweatshirt... in Florida. It was in the 60s that day--not the warmest, but certainly beats the Wisconsin weather! Hey, at least I could wear flip flops.

Love the French area of EPCOT--reminds me so much of our actual French vacation.

 Patiently waiting to meet Aurora

I love her expression in this one--so excited!
